Trouble missing letters when reading!

For the past 2-3 years I've been having difficulty reading all the letters of words whether it was using my distance or close vision.

After having the cataract in my left eye removed last year I pushed my eye Dr. more for a diagnosis of the problem. At that time I was told there was nothing wrong with my eye and that it was probably neurological. There was no further action recommended (hmmm, bad dr??) And I let it go.

Last summer I noticed it more when I obtained the use of a 2nd computer monitor for work and had difficulty determining screen resolution, font size and what works best for my computer viewing. I ended up just using the browser's functionality (CTRL plus the + sign to increase font size of the pages).

So I brought up the subject again during this year's annual eye exam. I was administered a field vision test. The recommendation was that they weren't seeing the problem I described as a field of vision issue (meaning it being an extensive blind spot issue, especially since everyone has a blind spot) and now they are willing to make a referral to a neuro opthomologist.

So, I've drawn on my strength of inquiring skills and found an informative website --http://visionaaware.org.
It provided some short tip PDFs of questions to ask Dr., product suggestions, strategies for coping, etc.

Right now life is a bit hectic preparing for my retirement. Additionally, I don't anticipate needing to use the computer as much in retirement as I do now so perhaps I may see a vision change. And when in doubt, do nothing except keep that information on the back-burner! So that's what I'm going to do for now.
